family information guide

Time moves fast. Kids don’t stay little forever. Your family changes. Don’t wait for the “perfect moment.” Now is the time to create photographs that you will cherish forever. Having your photos taken is not just a session, it’s an experience meant to capture the love that your family shares that you will be reminded of every time you see those photos on your wall.

Here's where I'm going to build excitement and write to inspire you.

Emma Jo is AMAZING! We've done a few couple and family shoots with her, and the results are breathtaking.

Hi friend, i'm emma jo

I'm so excited to get to know you, but first, here is just a little bit more about me

At 13 years old, I handed the cashier at Costco (of all places!) $500 cash for my first camera. I’ve loved being behind the camera ever since. I remember the first time I photographed people. I remember the excitement they expressed when getting their photos back. I wanted to bring this excitement to as many people as I could.

Family sessions are so fun to photograph because each session tells a unique story. I always have so much fun with a family in front of my camera.

I always start with getting your kiddos to smile at the camera, to ensure you have the photo you’ll put on your Christmas card. Then, I like to have a little fun. I’ll capture the genuine intereactions and laughter of your family.

I believe that being photographed is a very personal thing. My approach to photography is relational, so that you feel comfortable being in front of my camera, while also providing a professional and luxury experience. I desire for us to get to know each other, so we’ve already created a relaxed and relational environment when I show up to your senior portraits.

By the time your senior portraits are here, we will have already chatted about your hopes, dreams, and vision for your senior portraits. I’ll know every time detail I need to know from my Senior Questionnaire and we will have a plan to make your senior portraits PERFECT! I cannot wait to get started!

add-ons

Film photography

add-on

In addition to your full digital gallery of photos, imagine adding the intangible characteristics of film photos to your family portraits gallery.

Light and color is captured through film in a way that feels nostalgic and classic. Digital images often lack the softer tones, natural grain, and rich textures that are characteristics of film.

Film gives your portraits a timeless feel, creating heirloom keepsakes for generations to come.

frequently asked

1. What do we do if it rains?

Don't worry, we will reschedule! I always leave 2-3 days open each week for rain dates. If the weather is bad on the day of your session, I'll send along some new dates to choose from.

2. Can we bring our dog to our family session?

Yes! I recommend it! I always encourage my families to bring along their furry friends. Pups are a part of your family so they should be a part of the photos. I am a dog mom myself so I know the best ways to get your pups looking perfect in photos. The only rule - bring a parent or friend to your session so they can watch the dog while we get photos of the just the humans!

3. How do we choose locations?

I have a list of locations that I have photographed over the years that I know like the back of my hand. I know all of the best spots at these locations, and I know exactly what the light is going to look like. Once we chat about what you value in a location, I will provide some suggestions that suit your needs! From there, the choice is yours!

4. What is your photography style?

If I could describe it in one sentence - for the families who love timeless photographs and authentic posing. My editing style is true to color and timeless and my posing is simple and authentic. I never want you to look back on your photos and say “I can tell these were taken in 2024.”

5. How will I receive my images?

All professionally edited photographs will be delivered through an online gallery powered by Pic-Time where you can download your images, share with your family and friends, and print your favorites straight from the print store.
